Year of the Dog, Will it be a Good 12 Months for You?The Sun Property Plus - 10th February 2006
CURIOSITY may have killed the cat, but with the predictions of feng shui Grandmaster Datuk Dr Yap Cheng Hai, the Year of the Dog may no longer present any shocks for those who don’t like surprises. If you were born in the Year of the Tiger, and was offered an attractive, foolproof business opportunity in the sixth month of the lunar calendar, would it be a good idea to accept? Or perhaps you were born in the Year of the Goat. It’s the first month of the lunar year and you don’t understand why your boss keeps piling on the assignments when you are clearly swamped with work. It’s not that he dislikes you, so why is your “in” tray buckling under the weight of those tiresome files? Believe it or not, Grand Master Yap has a perfectly good (and rather pleasing) reason for your boss’ behaviour.
Those born in the Year of the Dog may be surprised to learn that the current year isn’t particularly dog-friendly because they are in conflict with the Grand Duke of Jupiter, or the Year Duty God (Tai Shui in Cantonese). The same goes for those born in the years of the Ox, Dragon and Monkey. On the other hand, the year may augur well for those born in the years of the Boar, Rat, Tiger and Snake. Those curious to find out what the Year of the Dog has in store for them will find this month-by-month prediction a source of direction and even comfort.

Confronting the Grand Duke (Tai Shui) will bring misfortune and accidents. In the third month, heaven and earth are clashing. The middle of the second and seventh months are the best periods. The unlucky months are the third, fourth, seventh and ninth months. Expectant mothers should go for regular medical checkups.
1st month - This will be a stressful month due to work. However, there will be loads of social events where you can let your hair down and de-stress.
2nd month - Be careful when dealing with friends and money for they may give rise to arguments.
