Q&A - The Sun Property Plus
26th August 2005

Q.    If a Southeast (SE) facing house is good for me, can I put a door in front for my use and a sliding door at the side of the house facing Southwest (SW) for my husband? Will this help? What if my husband or other people use the front door that faces SE - will it activate bad luck for my husband or the household? I would also like to know if it is good or bad to have a main road at the back of the house, after which is a hill. Does this signify a river fl owing at the back, which means lost opportunities? Does the small hill help since it is at the back of the house but after the highway?
A. There is no straight answer at the moment. It would depend on the external environment and the full layout of the house. Based only on the door, yes your husband can use a SW door. Will it activate bad luck for your husband or the household? It depends. Generally, it should not. As for the main road, it will depend on how busy the main road is. If it is a highway, then it is not so good. If it is just a residential road and not too busy, then it should be okay. The back of the house is supposed to be quiet to provide support for your house to rest against. When you have a highway, all the activity is not supporting your home. In a way, yes, it is also like a river. The hill may help depending its size and the size of the highway.

Q. I was born on Oct 17, 1975, at 9.40am and have stayed in my house for more than 16 years. For the last 16 years, I have slept with my head pointing North (N) about 5 degrees. After consulting a feng shui master last year, I have been sleeping with my head pointing Northwest (NW) at 280 degrees. I live in a low-cost terraced house which is about 20ft long and 17.5ft wide. There are two rooms upstairs and my main door faces my neighbour’s main door at 5 degrees N. As I am in the computer software business, my personal computer at home is also facing NW at 280 degrees. Due to the limited space in my house, it is difficult to do much moving around. What do you suggest I should adjust to benefit my business?
A. Your main door is not in a favourable position but this can’t be helped. Your personal best direction is NW, where the feng shui master placed you is correct. Unfortunately, the NW direction for this year is not a good direction. It is best to keep the position of your bed as it is. Change the position of your PC to face SW, W or NE for this year. After that, leave your computer facing W permanently.

Q. I moved to my present house in 1992, which was completed in 1975. I bought it from the first owner. Is my house in the period seven or six? If the period is seven, how can I change it to period eight? Please advise.
A. Your house is considered a period seven house. Changing the period of your house should not be done just for the sake of doing so. If you are not sure of the consequences, you should not change it. This is because a current period house is not automatically auspicious. It would depend on the direction of the house, which would then define the relevant stars at the front of your house. If these stars are inauspicious, it does not matter if the house is a current period house - the house will still be inauspicious. You might be encountering the situation where you are changing from an auspicious feng shui configuration to an inauspicious one.
