Q&A - The Sun Property Plus
20th May 2005

Q.    WHAT is the best direction for the bed or sleeping? Can I sit or sleep under a beam and what should I do?
A. The direction for your bed would depend on various factors. The simplest would be your personal best directions based on your personal Gua. If a person is sleeping or sitting under a beam, we say that this person is being suppressed. If the beam were on top of the bed, the person will have ill health and suffer from insomnia. If it is on top of a desk, then it will be very hard for the person to be successful with whatever work that is done. The person will also suffer from headaches. The solution is to move out from under the beam.

Q. I have a question about placing a fountain in front of my main gate. Our main gate is a sliding grille that slides to the left (from inside, facing outward) to open and faces south. We placed a fountain on the left of the gate. The fountain has water fl owing from a jug, and collected by another bowl. My question is: Should the jug be facing outward (I mean, facing the outside) or inward (facing the gate)? Some say it should be inward because we want the water to flow inside. Does it make a difference?
A. Assuming that the placement of the water is correct in the first place, we will want the water to flow inwards. When I talk about being in the correct place, it means the place where the water is activating an auspicious location. The location on the left is correct as one would not generally want water on the right. Assuming that you are facing very much directly south, then your water is in the south-east. You would then need to check your Life Gua to see if southeast is one of your auspicious directions.

If it is, then it is okay to have the water there and fl owing inwards. Yet another level would be to look at the flying star charts of your house. Again, assuming that you are facing directly south, water in the south-east is not so good. There will be a lot of traveling and inconclusive business. The bottom line is that the water should flow inwards if it is coming from an auspicious direction. In your case, south-east for the water is not too good for having the water feature. It would be a better option to have the water flow in from the south towards the north if it is in one of your auspicious directions. If you notice the problems that I have highlighted, just remove the water.

Q. If I have a bedroom facing the staircase that leads to the toilet downstairs, what should I do? Also, what is the remedy if the bed is facing the toilet door where I cannot move it out of the way?
